In May 2019, the Australian Government announced its commitment to a City Deal for Melbourne’s north and west.
City Deals require the three tiers of government to enter into an agreement to work towards a shared vision for productive and liveable cities.
In October 2019, the NCA along with colleagues from the Western Councils met with the Federal Minister for Population, Cities and Urban Infrastructure, the Hon Alan Tudge MP and the Victorian Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer, Mr Steve Dimopoulos to discuss the needs of Melbourne’s North and what a City Deal would look like.
