The NCA Mayors have officially launched a campaign to improve transport across Melbourne's north.
Titled: Connect Melbourne’s North: It’s time to transform our transport: is joint effort from seven councils to advocate for better transport options across the region.
Melbourne's north is growing fast but population growth hasn’t been matched with the necessary investment in transport. Our community is experiencing ongoing issues with inadequate transport services that don’t meet our needs.
People are regularly experiencing severe traffic congestion, long trips to the nearest hospital, challenges in accessing jobs, problems getting to educational facilities, and increasing social isolation.
Currently, there are no plans in place to improve this situation. That’s why the NCA is launching our collective vision for a connected north
We urgently need better train and bus services, more efficient connectivity and greater access so that our community can get to jobs, health and education facilities.
