NCA Snapshot
Edition One - August 2023
From the Chair

A warm welcome to our first NCA Snapshot, which is our opportunity to share updates on the progress of NCA activities with you – our key partners.

As the Northern Councils Alliance, or NCA, we represent and advocate for around one million people who live across seven municipalities in Melbourne’s north: Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Mitchell, Merri-bek, Nillumbik and Whittlesea.

Our goal is to ensure a better future for residents and businesses in our region by supporting job opportunities, business investment and connecting our community with employment, health and education services. We do this through advocacy, collaboration and facilitation.

Last year, we launched our NCA Strategic Plan 2022-2026, which aligns with the objectives of our seven Councils and guides our activities over a five-year period.

The plan outlines our four broad strategic priorities, which are:
-
Transport connectivity and access
-
Jobs and skills growth
-
Community health and wellbeing
-
Regional collaboration.

Under these priorities, we have identified projects that are of
regional significance. Every year, we will focus our efforts on a
limited number of projects that we believe are critical to our
region’s development.
Collaboration between Councils ensures that our efforts are coordinated and cohesive, leading to more effective outcomes.

Plans are important, but how we deliver on them is critical. We look forward to sharing our progress with you along the way as we work to drive positive change that will benefit Melbourne’s north.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the NCA.
